Jim Williams

Jim Williams is a Senior Advisor on the Frazier Life Sciences team. Jim focuses on business strategy and client communications.

Prior to joining Frazier Life Sciences, Jim was the first Chief Investment Officer for the J. Paul Getty Trust in Los Angeles. The Getty endowment provides funding for Getty’s museums, conservation projects, library and grant program, and a staff of over 1,500 employees focused on the visual arts. Jim served as CIO for 21 years before retiring in June 2024.

Prior to Jim’s time at Getty, he was President of Harbor Capital Advisors and Harbor’s family of mutual funds. Prior to Harbor, Jim was the Manager of Ford Motor Company’s global pension fund.

Jim serves on the Boards of Trustees for Ariel mutual funds and SEI mutual funds. And he is on the Board of the Toigo Foundation, which promotes opportunities for minorities in the financial services industry.

Jim has an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago and a B.S. in Engineering from the University of Michigan.
